The live music, delicious food, and spirited atmosphere provided a welcoming space for our supporters, partners, and community leaders to connect and celebrate our shared commitment to equality. At the event, we were also proud to present Common Ground Books with Equality Florida's Tallahassee Gala "Equality Means Business" Award. And, as Alex Spencer, Common Ground Books owner said, it is so important to create spaces where LGBT+ people feel safe and connected, as well as spaces to breathe and be themselves. Proctor Subaru helps reunite lost dogs with their owner! - Liz S
I work in the Proctor Subaru parts department and want to share a heartwarming story! Last week, one of our service techs, Luke, told me there were two dogs in the parking lot. Luke, another tech Lee and I went outside to approach the dogs. The bigger one had previously had puppies, and the younger one was stuck to her as if she was her puppy. The bigger one jumped up and licked my face, so I knew they were friendly. The two dogs were running around, so the three of us and another tech, Kade, corralled both dogs into the parts department so they were contained and safe. Our porter, Gage, showed up and contacted the service advisors to check if any customers were missing their dogs, and he also contacted the Buck Lake Animal Hospital to see if we could check their microchips. Gage also went to grab dog treats and a water bowl because the dogs were thirsty, who knows how long they had been without water. Kade and I stayed inside the parts department to comfort the dogs. Once Gage came back with the treats and water, the dogs were a lot happier and more comfortable with us. We thought to check the lost pets Facebook group to post the dogs and hopefully find their owner. Gage found a post two days ago of the puppy, so we knew these dogs were lost for a few days. Kade and I decided we were going to bring the dogs in my vehicle to the Buck Lake Animal Hospital to check their chips. Our parts manager, Marianne, provided plastic sheet from a bumper cover to protect the backseat and she also provided leashes and a collar for the two dogs since we did not have leashes. Gage, Kade and I all jumped in and headed to Buck Lake Animal Hospital. It was a fun trip with two dogs and Kade in the backseat holding them. When we arrived, we were greeted kindly by the vet techs. They scanned the dogs' chips and eventually found the owner's information and contacted them. Turns out they had gotten away from their dogsitter! The dogsitter arrived about 30 minutes later and claimed both dogs, Gia and Hannah. It was an eventful day where we actually had shop pets for a moment and we all did a good deed by returning the dogs and saving them from going further into the road or woods. After this, the parts department decided to donate Subaru pet supplies such as leashes, collars, harnesses, and portable food bowls to the local animal shelter.
Proctor Subaru Suprises Leon County Humane Society with a New Outback! - Lisa G
On behalf of all of us at the Leon County Humane Society, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to Proctor Subaru for their extraordinary generosity and continued partnership. We have enjoyed a relationship for more than a decade, and it continues to grow and strengthen. Twice a year, we team up with Proctor Subaru to host adoption events, finding loving homes for foster dogs and puppies currently in our care. At our most recent Subaru Loves Pets adoption event, we found homes for 18 animals, which is amazing! In addition to adoption events, we have also been fortunate to drive a Subaru Outback for many years through Subaru of Americas promotional vehicle program. Over the summer, however, that Outback was unfortunately totaled. Thankfully, no animals (or humans!) were injured, but with the promotional vehicle program coming to an end, we didnt know what we were going to do. The Leon County Humane Society Subaru Outback is more than just a vehicle; its a lifeline for the animals in our care and a powerful symbol of compassion in action. Little did our team know that Proctor Subaru had a HUGE surprise for us. At the event, Proctor Subaru unveiled a brand-new Subaru Outback, wrapped in our signature orange and Subaru Loves Pets wrapping, that we can use for Freedom Rides to rescue and transport animals in need. We'd be lying if we said no tears were shed. We can't emphasize enough how grateful we are for this huge demonstration of support. We rely so heavily on our Subaru for transport that being without our sweet orange Subaru the past few months has made us all the more appreciative of Proctor Subaru and Subaru of America, and how essential this car is to our work. Thanks to this incredible donation, well be able to reach more pets safely, efficiently, and comfortably rain or shine, near or far. The Outback will help us save lives, reunite families, and continue the mission that drives us: giving every animal a chance at love and a forever home. Proctor Subaru and Subaru of America have shown again and again that Subaru Loves Pets is more than a slogan its a genuine commitment to making a difference. Your partnership empowers us to continue to do our work with renewed hope. Together, were building a community where compassion travels far and kindness has no limits. From all of us, staff, volunteers, and the countless animals who will benefit from your generosity, thank you for standing beside us. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Tallahassee, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Proctor Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Proctor Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 02/06/2025, Proctor Subaru donated 120 shoes/socks to Emergency Care Help Organization Inc. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Proctor Subaru Supports our Local Arts Center - Joanne T
As we wrap up another Wildlife Arts Festival, wed like to thank Proctor Subaru for their continued partnership with the Thomasville Center for the Arts. Recently, we enjoyed having Proctor Subaru as a sponsor of Whiskey in the Woods, which is part of the Wildlife Arts Festival in Thomasville. The Wildlife Arts Festival is a true community effort, and we are grateful for the support of our partners, artists, underwriters, volunteers, and sponsors, like Proctor Subaru! Support for the Thomasville Arts Center will help it remain a thriving asset in the community, providing outreach and education programs that spark creativity and inspire young minds. At the event, the Proctor Subaru team served up homemade southern pecan mocha infused milkshakes and maple bourbon bacon pork rinds, which were a hit for attendees! The event was at Birdsong Nature Center, and in addition to the milkshake and pork rinds, guests enjoyed live music, a bonfire and a delicious dinner.

On behalf of the Leon County Humane Society, I want to express our sincere gratitude to Proctor Subaru and Subaru of America for hosting the recent Subaru Loves Pets dog adoption event at Proctor Subaru. The support of Proctor Subaru and Subaru of America make a significant difference in the lives of many animals in need, and we truly appreciate it. Thanks to Proctor Subarus generosity, we were able to find loving homes for 29 dogs, which is amazing. Even better, is that since LCHS is diligent in our application and vetting process, we can ensure the adopted dogs have been placed in loving, quality homes with their furever families. The BBQ, live music, activity for kids, pet bakery and Proctor Subaru team helped create a welcoming atmosphere for potential adopters it was a great time. We truly appreciate Proctor Subarus commitment to our community and their passion for animal welfare. Thanks to them once again for the invaluable support. A FULL SUMMER was happy to welcome Proctor Subaru employees back to join us for another A FULL SUMMER snack packing event. Our snack pack event is a yearly event to assemble snacks for local children and families in need during the summertime, and brings many organizations, like Proctor Subaru, together to make a difference in the lives of local children. A FULL SUMMER aims to ensure no child goes hungry, and our snack pack event specifically ensures they do not go hungry over the summer months when school- based free and reduced meal programs are not available.
