The Great Adventure:

The Great Adventure marked the grand opening of Proctor Subaru in 2010. Participants of the event were treated to an interactive tour of five great local businesses, each of which held an open house. The businesses visited were PETCO , Trail and Ski , Sunshine Cycles , Black Fig and Tallahassee Nurseries . Moving participants from one location to the next let them gain a sense of the variety of products and services offered while also enjoying the spirit of Tallahassee. After the tour everyone met back at Proctor Subaru to relax and enjoy refreshments provided by Red Elephant , witness the ribbon cutting by the Greater Tallahassee Area Chamber of Commerce and to participate in prize give-a-ways and drawings. Each participant earned a $25 contribution to benefit one of the five selected non-profits which included the Leon County Humane Society , Big Bend Cares , American Lung Association , Elder Care Services and the Council on Cultural Arts (COCA) . The event was a great success and was recognized as one of the best grand openings in the history of the Subaru brand.
Blue Jeans Friday - The American Cancer Society:

For several years the employees of the Proctor Dealerships have taken part in Blue Jeans Friday. All year long the involved Proctor employees donate funds and get to wear blue jeans on Friday. The money contributed by employees is matched by the organization and used to fund various projects with the American Cancer Society.

The Proctor Dealerships have been actively involved in the Greater Tallahassee Area Chamber of Commerce since 1947. We strive to connect with business professionals, and promote commerce within Tallahassee. Through the Greater Tallahassee Area Chamber of Commerce, members of the Proctor team attend "Business Nuts and Bolts", "Business After Hours" and "Professional Women Forum" events.

The Access Tallahassee program is dedicated to connecting career oriented people that are between the ages of 21 and 40. The program focuses on giving professionals the tools and resources needed to achieve long term success in the community. True Love + True Blood with Southeastern Community Blood Center:

In 2011 Proctor Subaru was proud to host our first 'True Love + True Blood' event. Proctor Subaru worked in conjunction with the Southeastern Community Blood Center , Lucy & Leo's Cupcakery , Hotel Duval , Cypress Restaurant and Subaru of America to collect blood donations. Donors were entered to win prizes at the event, which included a 40" Toshiba Flat Panel TV, Sony Blue Ray Player and Seasons 1-3 of HBO's hit series True Blood. Other prizes included one night's stay at Hotel Duval, dinner at Shula's 347, and dinner at Cypress. Donors were also treated to the famous Lucy & Leo's red velvet cupcakes to make the experience even richer. The True Love + True Blood event was a huge success with over 100 blood donations.

Proctor Subaru likes to recognize not only people, but their pets as well. In our "Pets and Their People" annual event each March, Proctor Subaru works closely with the Leon County Humane Society , Tallahassee Magazine, PETCO , Lucy & Leo's Cupcakery and Subaru of America to coordinate an on-site adoption event at Proctor Subaru. Other events include getting a complimentary picture taken with your pet, pet nail clipping, a T-Touch clinic, low cost micro-chipping, K-9 unit and search and rescue dog demonstrations, PETCO booth giveaways and much more. The Pets and Their People event has been a big success and we are looking forward to many more in the future.
Red Hills Horse

Once described as the "strongest and most fertile soils in this part of the country," the Red Hills Horse Trails are located right here in beautiful Tallahassee, Florida. Named for the sloping terrain and rich red earth known as the "red hills" of North Florida and South Georgia, the Red Hills Horse Trails are the site for the annual United States Eventing Association Area III Event. Four dressage rings, a stadium course, stabling, shops, a food court, and "Saddlers' Row" come to life in addition to a variety of exhibits, educational demonstrations, Park and Botanical Tours at Red Hills and the adjoining land, Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park . An annual event sponsor, the Proctor Dealerships provide vehicles for the international judges' use during the week long event.

Every May, The Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra hosts the annual outdoor concert "Pops in the Park" at the beautiful Southwood Central Park Lake. Pops in the Park gives people a setting where they can come and relax while enjoying the world of live symphonic music. The concerts of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra are made possible in part by generous contributions from those in the community, as well as through the Florida Department of State , Division of Cultural Affairs , the Florida Arts Council , Leon County and the City of Tallahassee . The Proctor Dealerships are proud to help this amazing event come to life in order to share the gift of music.
Lemoyne - Chain of Parks:

The Proctor Dealerships support many non-profits benefiting the arts. One such non-profit is the Lemoyne Center for the Visual Arts, and their annual "Chain of Parks Art Festival". The Chain of Parks Art Festival is held each April in downtown Tallahassee and is thought to be one of North Florida's premier cultural events. The art festival benefits artists from around the country and allows them to showcase their beautiful masterpieces. The 11th Annual Lemoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival, held in April of 2011, drew more than 45,000 attendees according to reports. Additionally, the weekend long festival raised more than $40,000 in support of Lemoyne's ongoing operations that include art education, exhibits and community outreach.

The Proctor Dealerships are a proud sponsor of Relay for Life. Relay for Life benefits the American Cancer Society, and encourages people to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, lost loves ones and continue to fight the disease. Relay for life has been making an impact since 1985 and has grown to be one of the biggest movements to help end the disease. At the Relay, teams camp out and take turns walking around the track. A typical relay lasts for 18-24 hours because cancer never sleeps. Each year more than 3.5 million people in 5,000 communities in the U.S. take part in this event, in addition to 19 other countries around the world.
Brewfest Tallahassee:

One of the favorite local festivals, Brewfest Tallahassee allows people to sample and learn about the various types of beer, all while raising money for some great causes. During the festival guests also enjoy live music and great food in an indoor and outdoor setting. The 2010 event featured over 100 different types of beer, the main focus being Craft beers with a variety that included pale ales, IPAs, porters, stouts and more. Over 2,250 attend the four hour event each year. Brewfest is presented by the Sunrise Rotary and all proceeds raised go to benefit the Rotary Youth Camp , Relay for Life , World-wide Eradication of Polio , HOPE community and the Ghazvini Center . The Proctor Dealerships enjoy sponsoring this event and encourage people to come and out experience new things and broaden their horizons through their taste buds.
Strides Against Breast Cancer:

Breast Cancer is a growing concern, with about 1 in 8 women in the U.S. developing invasive breast cancer in the course of a lifetime. The Proctor Dealerships are proud to be a Pink Diamond sponsor and take part in raising awareness about breast cancer through the American Cancer Society 'Making Strides Against Breast Cancer' walk. Once a year dedicated walkers, donors and volunteers come together in this amazing event, and take the strides necessary to start creating a healthier world without breast cancer.
Tee off for Tots:

Each year the Proctor Dealerships, along with the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Foundation embark on a community wide effort to increase awareness of juvenile diabetes. The TMH Foundation's annual Tee off for Tots event directly supports the Proctor Endowment for Children with Diabetes. The Proctor Endowment has made a huge difference, not only in Tallahassee but also in surrounding areas. The pediatric team at TMH Diabetes Center is highly trained on the latest education and management skills for working with youth with diabetes, and the team, in turn, trains and supports local and regional school systems in this state-of-the-art care ? all through funding generated by the Proctor Endowment. Each year the Proctor Dealerships host a dinner as part of the annual Tee Off for Tots carnival. The purchase of a ticket enters a guest into a drawing for a chance to win a new vehicle, which is provided by the Proctor Dealerships. All funds generated from ticket sales benefit the Proctor Endowment. The Tee off for Tots golf tournament follows the next day. The Proctor Endowment has touched and positively influenced countless lives, and will continue to do so for generations to come.

The Proctor Dealerships formed a strong working relationship with the Leon County Humane Society back in 2010 with the Great Adventure event. The Leon County Humane Society was founded in 1960 as an effective advocacy organization whose mission was to evaluate the local and state situation to determine the status and needs of the animals. Since then the organization has continued to grow and be successful. Throughout the year the Proctor Dealerships team up with the Leon County Humane Society for different events to help promote pet adoption and raise awareness against animal cruelty.
