Subaru Impreza vs Mazda 3 Review

Tallahassee Subaru Dealer Serving Panama City, Monticello, Crawfordville and Quincy, FL

For those who are in the market for a used sedan that is not only practical but also stylish, there are a number of exceptional cars on the market to choose from. In reality the market has never seen such a selection of top quality sedans that are both practical to own and fun to drive. Here we take a look at the 2015 Subaru Impreza and the 2015 Mazda 3, two of the top vehicles in their class.

Performance & Efficiency

Exterior styling is always the first thing that catches a buyer's eye as they wander the dealer's sales lot. The 2015 Impreza takes much of its stylish good looks from sister cars the Legacy and Outback. The 2015 model not only displays a lot more style than previous models, but also offers a significantly lower coefficient of drag, making it more fuel efficient than ever. At the same time the 2015 Mazda 3 offers a sporty look that is aesthetically pleasing. Yet it appears to be rather understated with regard to the use of sharp lines and a front grille that seems to be somewhat lacking in creativity. In fact the 2015 version of the Mazda 3 is essentially the same as the 2014 model showing little intent to offer buyers something new to enjoy.

Features and the Interior

The Impreza has come a long way from its practical roots and now offers plenty of interior space for everyone. At the base level the Impreza comes loaded with a host of standard features including, cruise control, a standard rearview camera, and an infotainment system that features a 6.2 inch screen. You can order a sunroof, fog lamps, heated front seats, larger wheels, and an upgraded sound system to customize your Impreza. The Mazda 3 on the other hand has been described as a little on the snug side and it comes with only a few basic features. These include an AM/FM radio, push button start, and air conditioning. If you want a rearview camera or heated seats, you have to add them as costly upgrades.

Performance

Both of these used vehicles come equipped with a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine. The Impreza offers 145 hp and can only be ordered with all-wheel drive and your choice of a CVT or 5-speed manual transmission. The Mazda 3 comes with a 2.0 liter four cylinder that nets 155 hp and is available with a 5-speed manual transmission and front wheel drive.
