1.) The Recognition: The Subaru Forester has been recognized on a nationwide level by different organizations. The 2011 Forester was a "IIHS Top Safety Pick" and earned top ratings in all four of the institute's tests (offset frontal, side, rear impact and roof strength). Additionally, the vehicle offers electronic stability control, adding to its safety features. The organization "ALG" awarded the 2011 Forester with the Residual Value Award for best compact utility vehicle, stating that the Forester was "the most award winning small SUV since 1997". 4.) Performance: The Subaru Forester is known for its high performance, and historically Foresters have handled better than the average SUV. These Foresters are AWD and new and used Foresters have a strong reputation for easy maneuverability, sure-footed handling and in slippery weather and strong build quality. The horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine in the 2.5X models produce 170 horsepower and 174 pound feet of torque, XT turbocharged models are also available. 5.) The Price: The Subaru Forester is priced to sell with models starting as low as around $20,500, but is still equipped with full power accessories, cruise control, air conditioning and a trip computer. As the vehicles move up in luxury the price also goes up, but the highest luxury model - the 2.5XT Touring - still is reasonably priced around $30K. Most other vehicles in comparison are more expensive, but with the Forester you can pay less and still get the bang for your buck.
